European regions are joining forces to shape the future of healthcare services. As a stakeholder of the HUMAN project, Switzerland Innovation Park Biel/Bienne (SIPBB) uses it’s expertise to help bring Healthcare 5.0 to life.
The HUMAN project, which is part of the Interreg Europe programme, brings together 12 partners across eight European regions to accelerate the shift toward Healthcare 5.0. This new approach applies the European Commission’s Industry 5.0 vision to healthcare, focusing on resilience, sustainability, and human-centric innovation. The goal is simple: to make healthcare more affordable, accessible, and equitable for everyone.
The total project budget amounts to 2,637,206.00 EUR, co-funded by Interreg Europe, the European Union, and the State Secretariat for Economic Affairs (SECO).
Switzerland Innovation Park Biel/Bienne (SIPBB) plays a key role through its Swiss HealthTech Center (SHTC). The SHTC is responsible for supporting the implementation of the Healthcare 5.0 approach in the Canton of Bern, in line with the government’s legislative programme “Engagement 2030”. Its mission is to build a regional consortium of experts and institutions who collaborate on healthcare innovation, share best practices, and exchange knowledge with partners across Europe.
